The Suitable Technology for the Handle of your Medical Device

Mobile high quality medical devices are likely to be held, wheeled or lifted. Then, the choice of the technology for the handle manufacturing is essential and it has to be matched with the handle’s purpose, technical requirements and cost-effectiveness.

Creanova’s Production Technologies to Meet your Handle Requirements

Creanova provides to all its clients a wide range of technologies to cover all sorts of production needs and deliver high quality healthcare devices.

Our engineers have the know-how and the experience to drive you towards the best solution in terms of technical characteristics and cost optimization, and to execute the quality control on all the healthcare devices.

Below you can find the technologies we leverage in handle manufacturing and the relevant tips by our production team.

Gas-Assisted Injection Molding

It’s the right choice, if you need batch of more than 300 pieces (it’s possible with +100 pieces with higher investment), resistance, lightweight, high-level of aesthetics, possibility to use anti-shock material, single piece in place of more shells (like the plastics injection requires).

Focus on the picture: the handle was built to withstand all possible uses, even the improper ones like the lifting of the device by the handle. In this case, the medical device will not be damaged thanks to the gas-assisted injection technology and to an engineering trick. The handle boasts an high-sized grip section (25mmx25mm), which requires specialization in gas-assisted injection molding.

Plastics Roto-Molding

It’s the right choice, if you need batch of more than 300 pieces (it’s possible with +100 pieces with higher investment), extreme lightness, resistance, possibility to use impact-resistant material.

Focus on the picture: the handle is the grip point for carrying and the connection of the medical device to the ambulance bracket; it enables two rest positions: horizontal and vertical. Roto-molding and a deep analysis of the material amount allowed to realize the handle with the required geometrical features and at the same time to keep the complexity of the assembly low and its weight light (480 g).

PUR

It’s the right choice, if you need small batches (low investment required), very aesthetic parts, possibility to choose among different levels of impact-resistance and rigidity, in this case parts need to be painted.

Focus on the picture: PUR was a choice guided by the small batches and the willingness to avoid the shell division, without big investment. This handle is an integrated and structural element, without any shutter which enhance the device cleanliness.

Die-Casting

It’s the right choice, if you need batch of more than 300 pieces (it’s possible with +100 pieces with higher investment), high mechanical strength, premium feeling, 100% recyclable material, in this case parts need to be finished (e.g. sandblasting) and painted.

Focus on the picture: the aluminum ensures the small section size and mechanical performance, required by the direct connection of the handle with the supporting structure.
