Automated External Defibrillator

Automated External Defibrillator

An advanced early defibrillation device for specialists and non-specialists was presented by CORPULS in MEDICA (World Forum for Medicine). We are proud to cooperate with CORPULS in the engineering of an Automated external defibrillator, providing Creanova engineering, and production expertise of housing parts.

Handy, robust and intuitive, the new CORPULS AED safely guides experts and non-experts through life-saving resuscitation. With its low weight and compact dimensions, it is the ideal addition to any emergency service. Its extreme strength and resistance allow it to work in extreme conditions.

Key features include – lightweight, compactness, superior strength, extreme resistance, built-in GSM module, and patented built-in corPatch CPR feedback sensor.

Challenges in the development of a new defibrillator

  • To select material that meets the specific combination of various requirements such as resistance to different chemical agents, wide temperature range and superior strength
  • To achieve highly demanding specifications of dust and waterproof level (IP66)
  • To provide an extremely high level of vibration and impact resistance (DIN EN 1789)
  • To fulfill the requirements of strength and resistance, at the same time maintain the concept of very compact dimensions (25.4cm x 21.9cm x 5.9cm) and low weight of the device (1,9 kg)selec

Engineering Results

  • Sophisticated, high precision engineering solution by developing the special internal frame ensures optimal flexibility and strength to achieve impact (DIN EN 1789), and drop test requirements
  • The special internal frame has the highly complex shape on which all other components are mounted
  • 3 different gaskets on the single internal frame guarantee extremely high dust and water resistance (IP 66)
  • The complex shape of the internal frame in combination with specifically chosen material ensures the right balance between flexibility and strength
  • Numerous tests during the development and engineering process (done internally and in cooperation with certified laboratories) to verify the feasibility of chosen solutions

Prototyping, Production  and Assembly Results

  • During the AED engineering phase, various prototyping technologies were chosen according to the specifics of each component: SLA, Vacuum Casting, Foam sealing with FIPFG processes
  • Extensive DFM (Design For Manufacturing) analysis and high-quality complex molds guarantee superior production results
  • The special internal frame was developed according to the Design For Assembly (DFA) approach with Poka-yoke [poka joke] system, ensuring easy, quick and effective assembly process
